Vantage Robotics Trace

A pocket-sized ISR drone that stays discreet, deploys in seconds and flies for 36 minutes.

Small teams need eyes on a target without giving away their position. Larger drones bring noise, weight and set-up time that close-range and covert work cannot afford.

Trace from Vantage Robotics is a 215 g nano UAS built for exactly that job. It hand-launches in around 90 seconds, flies for up to 36 minutes and carries a stabilised EO and thermal gimbal, all packed into a field case that weighs just 670 g with batteries.

Designed and built in the USA, Trace is Blue UAS cleared and NDAA compliant, giving defence and security teams a trusted alternative to Chinese-manufactured small drones.

Trace for Defence

Discreet, rapid-deploy ISR for dismounted patrols, specialist units and security teams.

Trace sits at the lightest end of the Coptrz ISR range. Where platforms like the Freefly Astro carry interchangeable payloads, Trace is built around one goal, giving a single operator persistent overwatch with the smallest possible footprint, noise and packed weight.

Covert Observation and Reconnaissance

Getting close to a target is where risk peaks. Trace pushes the operator's view forward while they stay in cover, with an acoustic and visual signature low enough to work at short stand-off distances.

• Low acoustic signature, under 34 dBA at 30 m

• Small airframe that is hard to spot against terrain at close range

• Perch and stare capability to hold a static observation point and conserve battery

• 48 MP EO camera with 25x digital zoom for identification at stand-off

• Uncooled VOx thermal sensor, 320 × 240 or 640 × 480, for night and low-light work

• Up to 36 minutes' flight time for persistent overwatch

• Hand launch in around 90 seconds, from case to air

The result is a clearer picture, sooner, without putting personnel in the line of sight.

Indoor, Urban and GPS-Denied Operations

Trace keeps working where satellite navigation and line of sight cannot be relied on, using visual position control, indoor collision avoidance and onboard scene illumination.

  • Building and room clearance

Fly ahead of entry teams to check rooms, stairwells and corridors. Collision avoidance and scene illumination help the aircraft hold position in confined spaces.

  • Urban and dense environments

Tall buildings and narrow streets can degrade GPS. Visual position control supports GPS-denied flight of up to 50 m in daylight.

  • Non-line-of-sight observation

Look round corners and over walls with up to 500 m of non-line-of-sight range. In open terrain, line-of-sight range extends to 7 km.

  • Contested RF environments

Automatic channel hopping and dynamic power up to 1 W help maintain the link. Trace is built for crowded and contested spectrum.

  • Perimeter and site security

Run rapid checks of fence lines, compounds and vehicle approaches. Live EO and thermal feeds go straight back to the operator.

  • All-weather deployment

IP53 rated and operating from -20°C to 45°C. Trace holds position in 25 kt sustained winds and 45 kt gusts.

Built to work with the systems your teams already use

Trace is MAVLink and RAS-A compliant and works with QGC, ATAK, WMI and RAC2 ground control software. It can be flown from the Vantage Vision 2, Kutta KTAC, S20 TE or Tomahawk Mimic and Grip controllers, and Coptrz can support integration, training and validation for your workflows.
